Last night I ate dinner with 7 strangers at the Dinner Party Project. The idea is you sign up to be in a lottery and you are selected with 7 other strangers to eat and socialize.  You are given a location to arrive at and a local chef comes and cooks an amazing, fresh 4 course meal . Such a cool idea right? I realize this sounds really fun to some and really intimidating to others. I promise it isn’t as scary as it may sound . Everyone who was at my dinner party was open, friendly and so easy to talk to.

I have spoken on my blog before about how entrepreneur life has been an interesting shift for me and can get lonely. Like I’ve said before I am always, always checking in with myself and how well I am honoring my core values. Because I know when I am not honoring them, I do not fully show up for others that is not something I’m willing to compromise.  Human connection is a BIGGIE for me and this was my way of taking action around that.

Now, we could have sat around and just talked about the weather which can happen at these type of things right? Not this time, our host Dana, was prepared with deep and juicy questions to open up the space for good conversation and vulnerability.

Here is what I learned last night:

-It was unanimous at the table, we all want to feel a sense of purpose on a daily basis. We all want to feel like we are making a difference and we’d like to get paid for it too! ( totally possible FYI)

-Our greatest fears lie in death and ending up alone. ( I told you we went deep!)

I’m so inspired by Dana, the woman who created The Dinner Party Project.  She, like so many of us came to a crossroad at her life one day and realized she didn’t love what she was doing and that something needed to change.  So she told a friend, “If I could throw dinner parties, for a living I would”.  And so she does!!! Talk about a woman who is living her purpose and values. The domino effect of this is huge. She is bringing people together, fostering community and making a huge difference in people’s lives. Newsflash:

This can be you.

And I’m here to help because that is my Passion and Purpose. It’s my belief that if we were all living our purpose every day, this world would be a MUCH different place.

And Passionistas, in order to foster even more human connection, I am in the beta stages of running a Facebook group. I wish I could invite you all over for cocktails, girl talk and inspiration, but my home is not big enough yet! In the meantime while I’m building my “mansion”, I want to formally invite you to my private Facebook group I just started, Passion Driven Life. This group is a safe space to vent, a place to inspire and be inspired and be held accountable to the Passionista way of life. I can’t wait to see you there. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1186668938072779/

Boldly and Bravely yours,

Jessica
