Somewhere along the way in my childhood, I became a people-pleaser. Most of my decisions were based on whether or not it was going to make someone like me or not. If I sensed that I had not charmed my way into someone’s heart, it would literally keep me up at night. How could they not like me !? I am DE-LIGHTFUL. This was a slippery-slope because it taught people in my life to treat me as second-tier. At this point in my life I wasn’t even sure what I really wanted. I was too clouded in caring what people thought about me. Did they like me? Did they think I was pretty? Did they think I was smart and funny?

Skip to present day: I treat people with kindness and respect AND live according to my values. Having every single person like me is no longer a concern for me.  I know who I am and what I stand for. I know what I want and I go after it.  It’s no coincidence that all the things I’ve dreamed of have trickled into my life.

My lesson:

Stand up for yourself. Stop worrying about looking needy, rude or bitchy. WHO CARES !?  When you are coming from a place of honoring your personal values, you needn’t worry about that.

Sometimes it’s not about being liked. Stop making being liked the center of your universe. Command the respect you deserve and you will get it.

Because here is the scoop: You are a woman on a mission to live her purpose and that means putting yourself out there in a BIG way. When you do this, you are going to ruffle some feathers. And if you don’t, you aren’t going big enough. RUFFLE SOME FEATHERS, ladies.  Not everyone is going to be on your level. Not everyone wants to be on your level. That’s ok. It’s ok, because you aren’t going to shrink your shine just to make others comfortable.

Stop worrying about being an inconvenience to others. Stop deciding what other people are going to think about you. Guess what? They are going to think whatever they want because they are dealing with their own BS. It’s not always about you.  And so what if they think something about you? Good, we hope they do. It means you are up to something that people care about.

You aren’t going to get what you want from this life until you start getting comfortable unapologetically asking for what you want and taking it.

And the most powerful thing a woman can do is NOT explain herself.

We have NINE days left in 2016 Passionistas. What’s done is done. No looking back.

2017 is the time to check your price tag. Start charging what you are worth and stop giving people discounts. 2017 is the year that you are going to BRING IT.

You are the type of woman who knows deep in her bones that she has a purpose to serve in this world. You’ve got a fire inside you…. but you just might not be sure what to do with it yet. You might still be waiting for permission.

My program, Girl on Fire is going to give you that permission you need.

You are going to stop waiting for the “perfect” time to act on your dream ( career, love, family etc)

You will teach people how to treat you with respect.

You will start standing up for yourself and stop being obsessed with the outcome.

You will raise your standards and let the cream rise to the top in your personal, love life, and career life.

You will turn life’s shit into Glitter.

Why? Because some women fear the fire and some women simply become it.

Girl on Fire is officially launching on January 3!!!!!! ( Can’t wait that long? Click here to get on my calendar to talk about it (https://calendly.com/jessicahetherington/60min)

Wishing you a very Happy Holiday, Passionistas! From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting me and trusting me as your coach. YOU inspire me. Eat, Drink, and Be Merry this weekend !!!!

Boldly and Bravely yours,

Jessica
